Too often overlooked, Mickey Rooney’s performance in the 1957 Richard Quine movie “Operation Mad Ball” is as good as those of Jack Lemmon and Ernie Kovacs.

  • Glad you posted this clip. It was the funniest scene in the movie. Quine should have given Rooney more screen time. SKEEEEEBOW!

  • This looks like a great movie and Rooney was very underated as an actor because of his height.

His performance in a twighlight zone episode as a washed up jocky selling his soul to the devil showed what he could do with nothing but a room and a camera.

  • Damn, he could dance.

  • Lemmon had to do over 20 takes on this one, because he kept cracking up at Rooney's performance.

  • My personal favorite Jack Lemmon movie...

...and you're right, the ol' master, Mickey Rooney, steals every scene he's in.
