Perhaps no other artist in history played as large a role in developing the cubist movement as the great Pablo Picasso. This program explores his unique style, and the styles of other renowed cubists such as Gris, Braque and Chagall, through examinations of their works. Part of the Magic Gallery series aimed at introducing young audiences to a variety of artistic styles.
17 minutes, color and b/w.

  • Si Picasso vous passionne, venez voir quelques vidéo sur ma chaîne. Cordialement.

If you are passionate about Picasso, come and see some video on my channel. Regards.

  • Picasso just stole and twisted. He didn't "create" shit. Any number of painters could have painted a Picasso, it's just that Picasso painted Picassos' first...and so he gets eternally blamed for it.

    The end.

Ps. I liked the part about the fat tube.

  • Oh sure, if Absinthe was his habitual drink he would`ve gone insane as quick as a qwack!

Absinthe was just the key for him, vangogh, cezanne etc, just as lsd was in the 60`s for several artists.

  • maybe...but from what i have heard from someone who knew him .he said he was more of a wine drinker

  • Dont forget that without absinthe we probably would have to wait until lsd discovery for cubism, that part is very overlooked by all art historians.

  • He was a pioneer of cubism no doubt, but the advent of cubism was inevitable, sooner or later it would happen, Cezanne was already doing cubism, just check very carefully the details of his last works. (also van gogh).

Late russian simbolism also had influence.

Then came Juan Gris & gave it what it needed, to become even more synthetic & "flat" than ever.

  • cute

  • moral of this video: cyclinders are fat tubes.

  • Thank you - I just saw Picasso Art Collection in Brisbane recently at the Queensland Art Gallery - it was superb.
