1969 Chevelle SS496 Restoration Re-Cap Video Feature V8TV

http://www.v8tvshow.com/ss496 - We completely restored this 1969 Chevelle, taking it from "bass boat" green to the original color, replacing much of the original sheet metal and adding some key upgrades. We installed a Global West front suspension, Baer brakes, Hydratech Hydroboost unit, OPGI lowering springs, Vintage Wheel Works wheels, and a 550 HP Fast Times built 496 big block Chevy engine. It's loaded with Royal Purple synthetic fluids, and breathes through MagnaFlow exhaust. The car debuted at the SEMA show, and has been logging miles ever since. how belts would i need for  a rebuild 350v8 oringinal motor? i am not going run no a/c

The water out of the tailpipe is from combustion, hydrogen from the fuel combined with oxygen from the air, you get about 6 gallons of water from burning 1 gallon of fuel. Beautiful car though and a nice job as always.

@whoever asked about the tranny, at 6:15 you see the unmistakeable oil pan of a TH400. I would have gone with a 4L80E but i think that is a computer controlled trans. 700R4's and their 4L60 variants were never my choice. Built TH350 for a sub 500 ft/lb motor, or built TH400 for 500-ridiculous ft/lb motor is the general consensus regarding turbo hydros.

I want one! My only gripe is that I don't like convertibles but what an awesome car, one of my favourites. Keep up the great work guys and keeping us petrol heads here in the UK nourished with fine muscle cars.
