In my 18 years as a municipal firefighter, I've been on the giving and receiving end of many pranks. What I am struck by here is not only the lack of creativity and humor- but the myopic ignorance, or worse, blatant disregard for public perception by posting the video. It's embarrassing to me as a firefighter, and offensive to me as a taxpayer. They should indeed be grateful to still be employed. Most people on here don't know the stress we have in our line of work, therefor don't have a right to judge. Over the top a bit, but funny as shit. I remember my probie days, these guys will too.

There are far too many ways this could have gone really bad. Most of the ways are already listed below. This is how firefighters get bad names, what happens in the firehouse should stay there and not be broadcast on the internet.

I'm all up for pranks in the firehouse. I take part in them regularly. These guys have ZERO in the brains department. Not to mention, the genius that filmed this.. posted it.. and published all of the participants names. The fact that only 1 was terminated for this is a travesty. In this day and age, every single one of them should have been terminated. Way to go guys.. the fire service needs more bad publicity. Thanks for helping out our negotiations for pay increases and more time off
