[Kevin, Joe, and Nick left as soon as Nick said another goodbye to Sarah and promised to call her after they found out more about Sheryll's situation. Joe kept trying to call her cell but only got her voicemail. They were back from the airport and into their hotel room in New York in less than an hour]
JOE: I'm packing my things and getting on the next plane to Paris.
KEVIN: But you can't.
JOE: Why not? We've got another week before the next show.
NICK: Kevin's right. We have to tell Mom and Dad first.
JOE: But I don't know what's going on with Sheryll. She could be really sick and I can't even be there.
[Joe was panicking. This was exactly why he didn't want Sheryll to go. He couldn't be sure if she'd be ok]
NICK: I'll get Mom on the phone.
JOE: Ugh!
[Joe plopped down on the couch and switched the TV on. He was hoping to hear more about Sheryll, but at the same time he was afraid of what he might find out. Kevin sat down next to him]
REPORTER: Now, onto international news. Locale fashion model Sheryll was taken to the hospital yesterday morning in Paris. Rumors have it that she fainted from exhaustion but an insider says the cause is anorexia. This isn't the first time the model has been hospitalized...
JOE: Anorexia...
[Joe looked over at Kevin, worry in his voice]
JOE: Do you think she could be... again?
KEVIN: I don't know. She was eating regularly when she was with us.
NICK: Joe, it's Dad.
[Joe took the phone from Nick]
JOE: Dad...
DAD: Joe, your mother and I know that Sheryll's really sick right now. We'll let you fly out to Paris—on one condition.
JOE: Anything.
DAD: We won't let you go alone. Kevin has to go with you.
JOE: Fine. Can I go now?
DAD: Your mother booked you 2 a flight in 2 hours. Can you make it on time?
JOE: Yeah.
DAD: Ok. Be careful and give my regards to Sheryll. And be back before the next concert.
JOE: Ok, thanks Dad. I'll call you when I get there.
[Joe hung up the phone and looked at his brothers]
JOE: They said I can go, but Kevin, you're coming with me.
KEVIN: Why me?
JOE: I don't know. That's what Dad said, and they already bought our tickets. Get packing, flight is in 2 hours.
NICK: I guess I'll head home with the group. I hope Sheryll's all right.
JOE: Me too.
[Joe and Kevin were out of the hotel in 30 minutes flat. They were the on plane and in the air in an hour and a half]
KEVIN: Joe, can you stop fidgeting?
JOE: How? I'm so... worried.
KEVIN: Well, stop kicking your bag. I put my laptop in there.
[Kevin put on his headphones and laid his chair back. Joe stopped kicking and started eating—apples and organic peanut butter. The flight seemed years long to Joe as he sat in his chair, thinking of the worst. Kevin slept the whole flight and Joe looked over at him jealous of the rest Kevin was getting. They landed in the airport late at night and were picked up by a chauffeur]
JOE: [Putting his seatbelt on] Can you take us to the hospital Sheryll's in?
CHAUFFEUR: I'm sorry, Sir, but I have orders from your parents to take you to the hotel. It's late.
JOE: But...
KEVIN: It is pretty late. She's probably sleeping.
[Kevin tried to comfort Joe, but it only made Joe even more anxious]
JOE: First thing in the morning then.

[Joe dragged Kevin out of his bed at 5 in the morning. He hadn't gotten any sleep that night, partly due to jetlag]
JOE: I already called the chauffeur, so he's waiting at the front door.
[They were going down in the elevator and Kevin yawned]
KEVIN: Ok.
JOE: You've been sleeping since yesterday, and you're still sleepy.
KEVIN: A growing man needs his sleep.
JOE: You're not growing; I'm getting taller than you.
KEVIN: Shut up.
[They got into their car and were taken to the hospital. Joe asked the nurse for Sheryll's room number]
JOE: I swear she's never going to be in a different country again. She's always getting herself into these kinds of places.
KEVIN: You mean the hospital? Yeah, she does seem to come here more times than she should.
JOE: Here's her room.
[Joe opened the door. The room was plain, like most hospital rooms. The two tables beside Sheryll's bed held big bouquets of different flowers. The monitor beside her beeped regularly. But Joe suddenly gasped when he saw her lying on the bed, looking so fragile. It looked like she had lost 20 pounds since the last time he saw her, and that wasn't long ago. Joe walked up to the bed and took her hand. It was so light]
KEVIN: She looks so... stressed.
JOE: Stressed? She looks like she hasn't eaten in a month.
[Kevin and Joe watched Sheryll; afraid she'd disappear if they took their eyes off her for a second. Then she started moving. First her hand moved in Joe's, then she opened her eyes]
JOE: Sheryll.
