@DoctorWeeTodd The graphics were unlike anything EVER seen and games didn't even HAVE physics engines for anything other than grenades back then. Half Life 2 was a major step forward in graphics, physics and even atmosphere. Gotta love it.

in 2003 seeing a game like this was like meeting a farmer at a presidents office in the winter so stop complaining about the non-matching physics

@terretetetito Yeah I know. Gabe made some high promises.
But a few of them weren't (heavily) scripted such as the physgun demo, Bugbait, and (the majority of) Traptown.

I remember when this was released as camcorder footage from attendees
0:30 and 0:49 got a lot of applause and "HOLY SHIT!" comments from the audience. Ragdoll and prop physics were very primitive then and few games saw it. This was a major leap in technical features.
