Earth Defense Force 2017 Mission 52 Inferno Difficulty

This is Mission 52 - Inferno on Inferno difficulty.

Weapons: Lysander Z and ZEXR Guns

Okay, the enemy has decided to forgo any kind of tactical placement and just try to overwhelm with you with severe, crushing numbers. This stage is all about outlasting your opponents, which is why I farmed armor until I had 9735 and I could finish alone.

At the beginning I jumped in the Vegalta and fired missiles until it was destroyed, then throwing down my turrets, ran for the tank so I could fire until it was destroyed. Next I activated my turrets. The Lysander Z was used only if something was basically right in my face. Once the turrets ran out of ammo I ran for my life while they reloaded, then dropped them again to clear out the rest of the enemies. When the drop ships appear I sniped them immediately and set off my turrets when the enemy was in my face. The second wave of EDF guys helped out at this part with their laser guns. The king flies can be problematic if you don't take them down quickly, but make the drop ships your first priority. You do have some precious seconds to snipe before the horde arrives.

*I'm not even going to lie: this stage has a degree of luck involved. Health showed up at the right time, my guys distracted the onslaught, they didn't destroy the vehicles as fast as they could have, etc. Overall, it was not that bad.

@Matrixandraia when did you initially finish EDF 2017?

And also how come since you defeated every level on Inferno, why didn't

you post a video of you testing out the Genocide Gun?

@EarthDefenceInferno I originally finished in June 2009. I made the video set to prove a point to myself - that I was good enough to finish completely solo. I thought I saw another person had made a video of the Genocide Gun. In any case, I've never used it or seen it in action, so I don't know its effects.

@EarthDefenceInferno I've been playing R-Type at the moment, so I'm not done with EDF:IA. The plan is to play solo, but that's dependent on how difficult the stages are. I think right now that I can manage all that I've played alone, but I've only gone as far as 2-5 so far. Not sure when I'll attempt or record, because I still have to grind out a few more hundred thousand for some weapons.

and will you be playing co-op or single player? personally i think you should play multiplayer because this game is really meant for more than 1 player. Inferno difficulty will be a challenge... do you think that this game is harder than 2017?

@matrixandraia the Genocide gun does a whopping 1 million damage with a 6km range!

it cannot destroy however UFO's, Dino Mechs, The Walking Fortress or the Mothership. It only damages the bugs, gunships and the robots. so basically its a pointless gun. u can see me do a video playing with the genocide gun on my channel if u want. Keep up the progress in EDF:IA!!!

@EarthDefenceInferno I farmed this stage on Normal with the AF100 for Armor - that's how I went from the 6000s to over 9000. So many hours just spent standing in front of the lone UFO I'd left alive, shooting ants and picking up their drops. Damn. Also, yes, I did weapon farming back in 2009 in missions 40 and 46.
