Profoundly moving - Thank you - As a Preacher I have seen many a person laid to rest - in my mind - yes - they are going home ----
When it is my turn to depart this earthly sphere my mortal ashes shall be sprinkled on the outgoing tide to return home to my God, creator, the Great Architect of the Universe.
May all who believe rest in eternal peace.
God Bless you all.
You are children of the universe.

Hard to explain. Have you ever seen a sunset on the ocean? Or a ship. Do you have any mariners in your family who are dead now? Ask them.

@seaklaus Thank you for the extraordinary video and the beautiful song. My grandfather loved this song and he served 32 years in the US Navy. Coincedentally a US Navy CPO played this on his accordion as Franklin D. Roosevelt's funeral procession passed. Roosevelt had been a former Secretary of the Navy.

One of my favorite places to be is in the sail of a submarine while cruising on the surface. Especially during the twilight hours or at night. I feel it brings me closer to my father also a submariner, who passed years ago.

To: @SDG1750 - Good ear! You're right, it's not Josh as soloist in this version. Based from info' on the BoySoloist site, this "Going Home" was a radio edit of Michael Horncastle (lead soloist) and Tom Cully (secondary soloist) and can be found on Libera's albums, "Angel Voices", Oct 2006 and "Eternal - Best of Libera", Dec 2008 (maybe on other Libera albums, too). To poster, seaklaus, thanks for sharing. Beautiful pictures!
Believe me, every time someone makes a comment like yours, my tears well up all over again, just like now.

Thank you for your kind words. This photo video happened because I needed a place to park all my sunset pictures. But the words and and the music touched me so that I would want this presented at my memorial. Looks like a whole lot of kindred souls are having the same idea. The man standing at the railing is a self portrait of me working on an Alaska bound tanker. I still work at sea, and today I am giving a moment of silence to your father.

Clams and oysters, I guess. Some people just can't be pleased. Sad isn't it?

@bodunchar Funny you should mention that one. It was on a day after Thanksgiving when the leftovers went over the side. Some happy seagulls there, can you tell?
