DON'T WASTE MONEY ON USELESS CONVERSION PROGRAMS! USE iMOVIE TO CONVERT VIDEOS FOR YOUR PSP!

PSP Version 3.30: PASSED (Go ahead, you can update)

Best of all iMovie is standard on all Mac computers! No software to buy, AT ALL! Very useful video if you want to put movies onto your PSP (PlayStation Portable) and have iMovie on your Mac computer.

iMovie HD 6.0.3, QuickTime Pro 7.1.5, PSP Version 3.11, OS X 10.4.9 (PowerPC) used. Make sure all software is up to date, especially QuickTime!

Please respect any and all copyright laws associated with your converted media. Piracy ruins it for everybody, please don't spport pirated media.

  • I had a PC and PSP Media Manager and it was great, but I just got a MAC and i've been trying to find (good) conversion software. This tutorial was GREAT and I plan to use it for the time being but it's too complicated have any suggestions for good software? If not I understand . . . . . . . I don't want to insult the great work you did on this vid.

  • @hornets06 You can use iTunes. Import the files into iTunes, select the file and then click Advanced and select Create iPod or iPhone Version. The iPod/iPhone video format now works on the PSP with the latest firmware installed.

  • aww im screwed man i found a psp but already had one the one i found is super crappy ut it came with a 4gb memory card so i kept it BUT ITS SONY!! :P

  • Ha! Don't take it as a death sentence. The Sony cards should work fine, after all flash memory is flash memory no matter who makes it. I've just had no luck with the Sony cards for some reason but for other people they work perfectly fine.

  • OH my gosh thank you soooo much for showing me this... i bought the psp for my husband who is in afghanistan right now and i was so excited when i saw we could up load pictures! but when i saw we could also do movies i almost died! but then i didnt work and i was so crushed because i wanted to send him a video that he could watch of me when he misses me and much better then pictures! so thank you so much you have done something that has really helped me out and we are both so greatful!

  • !!!

Thank you SO MUCH for posting this video! I've spent hours and hours on the internet trying to figure out how to convert videos for my PSP (creating MP4s that didn't work, trying to use HandBrake, etc.) and now you've presented this amazingly simple way to do it! I just tried it out, and it works. Thanks a million! :D

By the way, what exactly would the difference be if you used MPEG-4 (Improved) instead of MPEG-4 (Basic)? Like, why not use Improved?
