@FuturePianoLegend87 thats a good strong basic but if you really want to know what would even better..bunkai would be best to work

Wow, looks pretty good considering the 3-year hiatus. I also took a break in between karate, mine was more like 12-years for spiritual reasons. I became more involved in church as a deacon and felt a conflict at the time. Not a deacon anymore though I'm a Christian, but now I'm back into karate for about two years. Funny how it never really leaves you, huh? Now I'm like my sensei's admin assistant. It's my way of making up for being away all that time. But enough about me, great job, man. OSU!!

Not bad dude i Too have had a long time off from karate a lot long then 3 years i go back to train from time to time and say hello to old friends.. keep it up your doing well

for such a long time without training your technique is amazing, the only thing i can notice is everything looks tense, it looks like your putting too much emphasis on pure strength, maybe try to just relax a little and let it kinda flow a bit more, but still a great kata congrats=]

Osu! Very good Kata, a little different than the one I do. So many versions of Seiunchin. The 00:16 movement is dependent on the bunkai you are learning, can also be release from a wrist grab. Don't think the masters intended for the bunkai to be written in stone, all kata have more than one bunkai. Maybe relax a little more. Osu! Shihan Mike Leverett "InsideTheDojo" Series.

a very elegant kata.. i currently train in shotokan and gojo-ryu. i had to learn saifa for my 7th-6th kyu and then the first ttwo heian kata for my 6th-5th kyu..im currently learning the three other heian kata and bassai-dai to double grade to 3rd kyu. seiuchin is next...I CANT WAIT! i feel i may switch to gojo-ryu permanent as the kata feel more natural... thanks for posting video.
From 0:22-0:48 the retracting of the hand after the uke is a grab to pull the opponent into a strike to the rib cage with the finger tips (Nukite). Also when you block to the outside try to avoid turning your head to much away from your opponent. Not to be overly critical but I'm doing the same kata; I've learned a few things. Check out the documentary Deadly Arts with Josette Nomardeau. Shes not exactly great but there is an example of seiunchin performed by a master. Hope it helps. Good Luck.

Hi FPL. Thank you so much for the pointers. I will keep those in mind as I continue to practice this elegant kata.
