According to the Vedas all is an 'illusion' projected by Maya (the prima mater, prima materia) - in the sense that all what is projected into 3-D is going to be dissolved - except the eternal soul.

@ClusterVisionMach2 neuroscientists and philosophers of the mind argue that our points of reference are constructs of the virtual reality the brain constructs for us: it simulates the outer world in order to place a "self" in the middle of it (see for instance th. metzinger). in this sense perception is an illusion. cogito ergo sum, but apart from that everything could be projections emanating from within.

but I still stand by my statement: everything I said could be wrong;-)

Interesting, but : from your perspective there is no reliable 'point of reference'. Now comes spirituality in. Isn't it astonishing that our quality of time ( Kali yuga) is precisely predicted in the Vedic knowledge and other ( i.e. Maya calendar, Rainbow Dream vision) spiritual traditions of mankind ?
