My eyes welled with tears on the third listening and viewing. Now I finally understand why Devereux is hailed by many as Donizetti's greatest opera. The finale alone is suffice to entail that honor. Gruberova is testimony to the miracles in life. Hail Madame!

Le comble de la laideur stylistique, et du GROTESQUE théâtral. Comment l'immense Gruberova peut-elle s'obstiner dans ce répsertoire et cette façon de "jouer"?

Hahahahah! in effetti un'interpretazione così ha il suo fascino...perverso! Ti consiglio le registrazioni della Sills (studio, 1969) e della Caballé (live, degli Anni Settanta). UN ABBRACCIO! GIORGIO
