Like someone said, there are no such things as "side-effects." That's a marketing fast-talk to give the illusion they are tangential, or trivial. There are only *effects*. Most "meds" that say they acts on X condition, and have a list of 20 "side-effects," have in reality 21 possible *effects* on the person, with some probability that the (maybe) beneficial one will be the more prominent. Most of it is just modern-day pharmakeia.

I took Paxil for a month and ended up in a Mental Hospital for a week, need I say more?

erm... all the antidepressants come with the warning that it could increase the risk of suicide...

@SuperDelta000 Stick with it, you will recover, I did. Eat healthy, drink clean water, meditate and get in touch with yourself. They can throw off your chemistry, but they cannot prevent your body from coming back into balance. Once you return to yourself your balance and your center you will see that you are ALREADY perfection.

these drugs destroyed my life. i dont know who i am anymore.

No that would be Xanax. and i take paxil now instead of zombieloft. Paxil is much better at helping me thru my panic disorder, depression recovery. Yes paxil causes emotional blunting like most SSRI's but it is helping a tad. Xanax provides great instant relief though and xanax saved my life.

@Pent5HT Yes but Zoloft does cure you from your anxiety troubles, isn't it?
Oh come on, that's not fair. I've been on antidepressants for three years and I hardly ever shoot up schools.

As far as taking the drugs in general, do people see their therapist or psychologist on a regular basis? The drugs don't cure, they are suppose to help balance you. It takes about a month or two to get in your system. If you just take the drugs thinking they are going to make everything better, THINK AGAIN. You need to talk to someone about your problems to help deal with them better. This could take months to years...finding the right drug for adults not children is trial and error.
