1.) Pull a few cross threads (3-5 depending on fineness of the weave) forming a "line" with which to follow for hemstitching. The threads pulled will make it easier for the piercer to make the holes on the first pass.
2.) Go VERY SLOW.
3.) When you reach the end of the row, lift the presser foot up and turn the fabric around. Align the piercer with the first hole. GOING VERY SLOW, make sure the piercer continues to go exactly in the holes with each stitch. If it's off just a little bit, then stop and make slight adjustments to the fabric so that the piercer can get back on track.
