My eyes are numb and I'm sad. All day I spent doing much of nothing, thought of you in silence, often spoke your name. Now all is left is your memories, the precious treasure of Ghazals you left behind. There was never one like you and never will be one again. Now God has you in His kingdom and we have you in our Hearts for Keepsake. You will be greatly missed. Long live the King "Jagjit Singh". Rest in Peace!

@crazyoldsongs Suhanee in her preface and you in your comment have put in concise words the feelings of millions who admired JS and are mourning his passing .It's but a small comfort to us to realize with the aid of our Upanishadic wisdom that he has not died as far as the subtle essence of his being is concerned, but has simply become invisible. And as far as his art is concerned,it will remain an everlasting and vibrant stand-in for his external form, now gone.

when i first listened to ''ye kaagaz ki kashti ''; i was so impressed , i straightaway bought the LP and became his ardent fan his divine voice was the only musical respite for music lovers who were suffering from lack of good hindi film music after the mid seventies , he filled the void with his calm , sweet voice which imparted peace to the listeners. his renditions were a balm for the troubled souls. all his ghazals became very popular .his voice was the best amongst ghazal singers . RIP
