This is coming out in Canada on DVD in few days, I will buy it , but the DVD is 6 hours long and I heard the entire series were 8 hours long in UK. Does anyone own a UK DVD ? Is it 6 or 8 hrs? I'd hate it if the made such extensive cuts.

I love their story-line. It's quite corny (she "loathes" him on sight, and then slowly changes her mind...:), but so romantic. Need I say it works so well due to the first rate acting displayed (especially the blue-eyed, calm-and-collected gorgeousness of Dan Stevens)? :)))

In the first episode I didn't really like Matthew that much, but through the rest of episodes he has really changed and now he is one of my favorite characters and I am happy that his character is returning for the second season!!!!

I didn't really care for the series much...but just recently i've been watching the second series and i am loving it...so i'm cramming in as much of the first series to really understand it all...and Matthew is def my favourite! Love the show!!

@12stel i know it's been ages since you posted your message about length of DVD compared to UK but thought I'd say that it's shown on a channel with adverts s thats probably where most of the difference is made up from! the UK love to put adverts on everything!!

I love Matthew and Mary, but what if....what if.....Julian Fellowes doesn't bring them together at all until next series? Or even maybe not until the end end? Too much agony. If they aren't together by the end of this series I'm going to cry!
