On this video you can see how to change bicycle pedals. It's very simple as long as you know which way to turn. This is how to do it:

1. Remove the left hand pedal, turn clockwise to open
2. Choose pedal with "L" or "LEFT" marking
3. Use some bike grease and install the pedal, turn counter clockwise to tighten
4. Tighten to minimum torque of 35 Nm (= 304 in. lbs)
5. Remove the right hand pedal, turn counter clockwise to open
6. Choose pedal with "R" or "RIGHT" marking
7. Again use some bike grease, this time turn clockwise to install
8. Tighten enough.

This bike is Cannondale CaadX 105 2012 with standard Welco pedals. I'm replasing them with Shimano SPD double function pedals. Double function pedals are perfect for this commuter bike, I can use them with both - SPD shoes and normal ones.

  • I am very close buying a caadx 105. Are you happy with it? How are the brakes? Thanks.

  • @uber1and: Brakes could be better and the wheels are heavy. But the frame is perfect for an alloy frame. My conclusion was that this is the best bike in the price category.

  • @Wannabesportsman thank you. I am wary of the brakes but the 2011 is a bargain right now.
