This is something I wrote one year ago called "Better Off" to accompany DJ Tyberious' track "Time Awaits." I've wanted to get together with Ty for some time to lay this down right but time and distance hasn't allowed that.
The audio and video quality isn't great but, at the insistence of my wife, I'm going to go ahead and post it anyway.
Lyrics:
Some days I wake up and I feel so tired
Lost and uninspired
As I look around this nation
I see a raging conflagration
Of void confusion, blank despair
The fear they've run it down beyond repair
I'm talkin' about the Left and Right, just in name
I'm here to tell you they're both just the same
There's been no parties, just the company
And federal banks since 1971
But human nature is the key it seems
So they cast themselves as stars in all of your dreams
They tell you it makes no sense to ride the fence
So you must polarize to their defense
But I say we have just accepted our division
Through our ruler's condescension and snide derision
Were there only men of vision
Who cared less for their positions
Than they did the right decisions
We'd all be better off
But here's the truth and Spud's gonna tell it
I'm gonna kick it to you even if I have to spell it out
On a torn up flag
Corporate interests have got you in the bag
And your congressman, he didn't get where he's at
Without the CFR and lots of bills packed with fat
To help out the few: the rich and the greedy
While talkin' how very much they care 'bout the needy
Because the same people making bombs, tanks and more
Own the media, that sells you the war
They own the banks that print up your money
It's such a blatant grift, it ain't even funny
I'm gonna keep shoutin' 'til each one understands
They rippin' you off and they got blood on their hands
You think you're free while you're cashing your pay
But that stub in your hand reads, "Pay to Bitch-ass Slave"
You ain't got no real power
You gave it away
They kept you workin' hard just digging your grave
So some rich central banker could skim off your sweat
You'd better wake up before you start to regret
You stuck you head in the sand, you didn't repent
Until the last of your freedoms got up and went
So, wake up now! Take back control
Stuff some common sense in that head like a hole
You gotta take to the streets, pin the bill to the wall
Remember history is looking back at us all
Very strong, powerful message. People need to wake up!! Good job.. keep them coming!
