The analogue switch-off of BBC2 from Emley Moor, at precisely 00:22:09 on the morning of 7th September 2011

In VHS quality because my DVD recorder doesn't have an analogue tuner.

  • Bye bye 576i...

  • @monty78pig 576i is the digital line standard for standard definition. Analogue was 575i.

  • Crystal Palace transmitter in London will be the last. Gonna stock up on SVHS tapes to capture the close, plus the end of Ceefax for posterity.

  • @tsangari Actually, the last region will be Northern Ireland, I think.

  • @TechnoJosh1 an you please keep any discussions under this video on topic please?

  • An announcement is pretty much more than what the rest of post-DSO areas of England got when BBC Two switched off. Winter Hill just switched off about a minute into a BBC News channel simulcast.

  • Yeah, not much fanfare here is there, but at least it seems like they're OK about it and not in a total panic that happened over here a couple years back.

  • Strange way to switch-off!
