An announcement is pretty much more than what the rest of post-DSO areas of England got when BBC Two switched off. Winter Hill just switched off about a minute into a BBC News channel simulcast.

Yeah, not much fanfare here is there, but at least it seems like they're OK about it and not in a total panic that happened over here a couple years back.

@monty78pig 576i is the digital line standard for standard definition. Analogue was 575i.

Crystal Palace transmitter in London will be the last. Gonna stock up on SVHS tapes to capture the close, plus the end of Ceefax for posterity.
