  • @Robotgrl13577531 This version is actually a little too slow, but this is a much more comfortable pace.

  • This is exactly how my high school band plays this. same tempo and everything. well done i really liked it!

  • The French horn part at 3:30 just sends chills down my spine.

  • i'm going to play this piece for my busch gardens competition

i think this version IS a bit fast, but it all depends on the conductor and/or the music itself. on our music, we're supposed to have an english horn solo. We don't have an english horn, so we might have to buy/rent one. i love this song though, it seems so sad, and realistic.

once again, the interpretation of this piece probably varies a lot from the original by james swearingen, depending on the conducter and the sheet of music.

  • You guys are going a lil fast aren't you? Our band is playing it slower, than that...

  • @skill178 Actually, the siren part wasn't off. I think it happens at measure 85(I'm playing this), and I counted. But some parts were off. Overall though, this band does have a great future ahead of them. This song isn't easy to pull off, and I think they did it fairly well.

we work at the pace of the conductor. We have a new conductor.. I personally like the one in this video [Mr. Mac]

  • @skill178

No...... that is right, you wait three measures of the snare before you come in. And then it builds untill you get to the solo. They were pretty good. A couple little spots, but every band has their faults. I think they did a great job on the song!!!

  • Unfortunately we only had one oboe, and she was a beginner

  • your supost to use a flute and/or oboe if you dont have a soprano sax cuz they are rare for school bands. but the song was written for a soprano sax solo, not flute or oboe
