"They are allowed outside for a few hours a day" How sad was that! They all run outside only to find themselves in another pen! No grass, so space to move freely....
-
Oh please, as if my freedom in life is at all comparable to the lives of a veal calf. Their lives are created and destroyed by the hands of greedy men.

That was a nice touch with the two innocent babies sleeping by each other. Thats awfully nice of you to let them out a few hours a day. Into a fucking 20 by 20 run. Right before you slash their throats. You fucking sadistic sons of bitches need your fucking asses handed to you. Get a real job you low life degenerate scum.

I love animals, they're delicious!

Some animals are slaughtered, it's sad but true. However animals in nature die everyday. Do you think they had a choice when their predators came to rip out their throat or tear out their insides? No, they were mercilessly slaughtered by another creature for food. If that omnivorous bear can kill a salmon as it struggles in vain to reach the nesting ground. That bear could eat plants and berries, so why doesn't it just do that? Because nature designed bears and humans so they could eat both!

I admit that a lot of things about the way animals are kept and treated do need amended. Quick and painless slaughter should be the ideal, the creatures shouldn't have to deal with hours of torment before death. No matter what the end purpose, the animal should have the best quality life possible from start to finish.

Also, robbing the animals of their freedom? There's a reason they're called "domestic" animals. If humans hadn't bred those cows they would have never gotten a chance to exist. Hell their great grand parents probably wouldn't have had a chance to exist. Same with many breeds of horse, sheep, goats, dogs and cats. Domesticated animals would not exist today if humans hadn't bred them. It's not like they randomly went out to some wild cow reserve and stole the calves from the wild.

Seriously I don't approve of veal either. HOWEVER! I'm getting ever so sick of trying to find a single comment on farm animal videos that doesn't have to deal with vegans and vegetarians screaming how wrong we are. If you want to only eat plants, great. I'm going to stick with being an omnivore thank you very much. If you don't like the subject of the video just don't watch it, that simple. Complaining on youtube isn't the most productive way to "further the cause."

Having been on "other" veal farms, that was more humane. They actually got to move about... they got to see the other calves and have interaction.... they got some sunlight.
Dairy industry is tough, no question. That is about as much humanity as the veal industry could possibly offer, if you are raising veal.
Hardly any veal farmers do this!!! Becasue if one of the calfs get sick the rest of them in that pen will too!!!! REMEMBER : YOUR IF YOU EAT VEAL YOUR EATING A CALF THAT WAS TAKEN AWAY FROM HIS MOTHER RIGHT AFTER BIRTH AND MOST LIKLELY CHAIN UP IN A CRATE!!!

Calves have been raised in groups since 1981. The majority of calves in the USA are not raised like this yet but there is movement in this direction. As far as one calf making everyone else sick this is not true, speaking from 25 years experience in group housing. Also calves are tagged electronically so they can be recognized by the automatic feeder.

THe feeder can issue medication on an individual basis and also the calf's temperature read at the station by thermometer to help with early diagnosis.

There are no chains used to tether calves in Europe or in Canada. Some calves may be chained or tethereed in the USA as it makes housing cheaper for the family farmer.
