  • WOAH

    the venture's door opened

this test is faster than normal crash test speed and an offset

and still the accord does well! accord is fucking awesome! i want to see the new accord tested like this

  • this surely shows that the accord is a very safe vehicle

  • Those Ventures are freaking death traps...

  • That's a GOOD thing because the Accord has MORE airbags! The Venture lacks side curtain airbags, and the Accord's side curtain airbags deployed because it detected a lateral acceleration rate on the driver's side that told it to deploy. In other words, it did its job in protecting the driver's head.

  • I own one of those vans. Its pretty scary every time that I take it out. They are extremely reliable vehicles, so I can't bring myself to scrap it. Its only flaw was it's inability to withstand a frontal offset impact. Other than that, its one of the safest vans given all of the tests at that time period. It has 250,000 miles on it now and still running strong. Its time will be up within the next three years.

  • you know what speed?

  • I know a few people I care about with Ventures, I feel like buying them new vehicles... If I had a lot of money

  • @whattheheck1000

i believe the side airbags deployed because of the rollover sensors, in some of the other tests with the accord, you can see the the accord had flipped on some of them.

And i remember reading about how the on the offset test of the venture, the dummies' metal foot broke off.

  • Screw you people I have one!

  • Hey tickle2012, I am a professional automotive writer, and do get the opportunity to sit down with engineers and discuss these very types of issues. Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, however, after speaking with the engineers, I would have to side with them. Whattheheck's comment seems logical, but the reality is things are more complex than they appear. That said, yeah, the Venture's performance is pretty appalling!

  • WOW... Those vans are death traps. I would rather walk than ride in one of those. This looks almost identical to the IIHS's Trans sport

  • @uttim75

i would go with whattheheck1000, although i am not professional. if there's rebounce i do wish there are side airbags to crushion the head.....

man, the venture's door pops open just like that?

  • Venture sucks period.
