RBTV's Mike D. had the privilege of meeting with award winning filmmaker Spike Lee to discuss his latest project, IF GOD IS WILLING AND THE CREEK DON'T RISE, his eagerly anticipated follow-up to the Emmy Award Winning WHEN THE LEVEES BROKE. THE FOUR-HOUR, TWO-PART
DOCUMENTARY DEBUTS AUG. 23 AND 24, EXCLUSIVELY ON HBO

Five years after Hurricane Katrina, director Spike Lee returns to New Orleans to see how the ambitious plans to reinvent the Crescent City are playing out in the all-new, four-hour documentary IF GOD IS WILLING AND DA CREEK DON'T RISE. He finds a patchwork of hope and heartache in a story that is book-ended by a pair of momentous events — the historic 2010 Super Bowl victory and the disastrous British Petroleum oil spill — that changed the history of America's most unique city once again. The film is OUT NOW ON DVD.

  • Just saw it yesterday on HBO, it was excellent and very informative. I didn't know half of the facts of what's really going on with New Orleans, post Katrina, british patrolium, (Bp) the men who lost their lives on the oil rig, and just how detrimental the oil spill really is. This is truly apocolyptic of the years to come If people don't wake up including myself.

    Knowledge is power.

Kudos to Spike and all the people great and small that participated in this documentary film!!

    God Bless
