I don't understand people's complaints about the historical facts, i mean you do understand your watching a Hollywood film not a documentary? Its not meant to be historically accurate necessarily. Obviously they shouldn't stray too far from historical accuracy, which this movie didn't, it was a very creative representation of the queen.

@ashellokitty because sophia copola wants this movie to fit on american teenagers, that's why she try to avoid the fluent accent which is very hard.

and also, French accent is not like british.

Louis was a nervous young man who panicked at the thought of girls. Marie's charm terrified him, he wanted to be alone most of the time. They were opposites. Marie was very naive with a lot of pressure put on her. She became a target for politics in a country she knew nothing of. She had various troubles with her marriage and belonging to a foreign court. You'd feel pretty awkward too. Imagine yourself marrying a stranger in another country at fourteen. Then be expected to fix everything wrong.

id rather watch a documentary on her life than watch this film
