My uncle was beat, he's a very well mannered, polite and moral man of principles. Peter harvey's actions were symbolic for all the long suffering teachers who have to put up with spoilt uncontrolled children every day, I was never beat, when I was at school i saw teachers get hit, spat at, shouted and sworn at, I saw teachers cry they had to just take it and still do.

oh shut up!! don't act like school pupils are all innocent and lovely??? ive seen pupils at schools and its shocking when you see some of the shit teachers put up with!! faul verbal abuse and even being attacked!! I knew a teacher who was being picked on all the time by some chav pupils!! until he shoved when of them over one day out of defense because one of the little shits tried to throw a punch!! they got that teacher fired!!! some pupils are so mental that words dont do a thing!!

@archiegibbons Given that I'm not a teacher if I was suddenly surrounded by a group of 25+ people I would have cause to fear for my life and defend myself with lethal force. The situation you put out would at best end when you all saw the gun I carry openly. That is not the point of discussion, the point is that you think it's ok to bludgeon a kid over something a grown man should be able to shrug off. Adults aren't children

I think in this day and age, teachers hands are tied when it comes to unruly pupils. The human rights brigade has put a stop to many punishments and therefore children have a free reign to do and say what they please. In my opinion they have drove this poor man over the edge.

50 years ago teachers used to beat pupils by the day and it was a well directed lesson of dicipline, now days they call it child abuse and lock you up...
