The Smithtown Fire Department participated in a required New York State decontamination drill for personnel of the St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center.

Engines 4-2-15, 4-2-5 and Ladder 4-2-7 provided a fog stream pattern of water.

In an actual contamination hazardous material situation victims would remove their clothing and proceed through the water stream. They would then proceed to a decontamination tent for a final removal of potentially hazardous materials.
