MCKINLEYVILLE, Calif. - Coast Guard Group Humboldt Bay units rescue three sailors from an overturned sailboat 20 miles from the coast of Fort Bragg, Calif., July 3, 2010.The 32-foot catamaran Catalyst was transiting from Crescent City, Calif., to Alameda, Calif., when it suddenly capsized in steep waves.

  • The dog's name was actually Jake, not Petey. I will remember and miss him always.

  • Steve, Christy, and Greg all survived with only minutes to spare. Thanks to USCG (!!!), the amazing hospital staff and Christy's family who helped nail down the vessel's location. With sorrow, it is asked that you pause for the passing of Petey, Christy's companion dog who did not survive.
