Trackside footage of the Norton Rotary race bikes at the Festival 1000 Bikes 2011, shot from the hairpin. See www.vmcc.net for more details.
All footage and photography shot by Steve Gillions of Small Red Gorilla using the Canon 7D with a Sigma 75-200mm f2.8 lens. All audio recorded using the amazing Zoom H4n. www.srgphotography.co.uk
Although I was working the event as a photographer I thought I would have a go at video with the 7D, making it my first real test of shooting video with it. The results could be better, it's not designed with fast moving subjects in mind, and I had to use a wide depth of field to keep the bikes in focus as much as possible bearing in mind the lack of autofocus. Next time I shall use the camera just for artistic shots, the camera will produce much better results, especially with a IS lens.
Cool upload no talking no music just the brutal sound of a 588 norton love it

@IrnMaiden304 Yep, the yellow ones were developed by Brian Crighton and were a seperate factory team running alongside the JPS Nortons. The Crighton bikes ran 150bhp while the JPS bikes ran 135-140bhp and were also a little lighter. Have a look at jpsnorton(dot)com/racebikes(dot)asp
