  • For my VBAC, my son was 10 days overdue. Tell the doctors that you want to go to 42 weeks, which is the normal allowable "overdue" pregnancy. You will probably go into labor before 42 weeks. Remember that you are in charge of your own body, not the doctors. They have no right to touch you without your consent. Tell them to let you wait til 42 weeks. You will have to have frequent stress-tests, but that is better than getting cut open again. Best of luck!

  • @brandtsteph u really do give hope..i wanted to know if you had any pain medicine? i previuosly had one c section n am pregnant now..31 weeks n im skepital about VBAC, so any advice you can give would be very helpful..god bless your baby..

  • @TheTwinlover I made it to 5 cm without any pain medication. I was throwing up from the pain. I decided to get an epidural, which wonderfully removed the pain and helped my body relax. I've had another baby after this one, and I got an epidural right away. Both babies were born active and crying. I am 100% in favor of pain meds if they allow the mother to relax and have a vaginal birth instead of a C-section. There are way too many C-sections happening today! Good luck to you!!

  • @brandtsteph Thank you soo much for replying so fast.. well that really was a relief to hear that you did it successfully with pain medicine.. but do u think that i should get the pain medicine before i start pushing? and once again thank you soo much..

  • @TheTwinlover I can't give medical advice because I am not a doctor, however, I can encourage you to labor as long as you can without pain meds. For me, the epidural did stop my contractions so the nurses broke my water to get labor going again. But there are no guarantees this will work. There is the risk of labor slowing from the epidural and thus a c-section is required. It's a balance. Meds helped my body relax and deliver vaginally, but they also can slow contractions. It's your choice!

  • I've had 2 babies. First one C-Section, and obviously the second was a VBAC. What they NEVER tell you is that almost ALL VBACs end up with a prolapsed Uterus!!!! Which is NOW what I'm going through. Had I just had another C-Section I would have been fine. I'm glad that I was able to have a natural childbirth, but I sure wished they would have told me the troubles I would encounter later on

  • @1217jacqueline That is interesting, Jacqueline, and I'm sorry for your troubles with the prolapsed uterus. I have not heard of higher rates of prolapsed uterus due to VBAC. I have had two VBACs and I didn't experience any troubles with prolapsed uterus, even with a 10 pound 6 ounce baby VBAC. My guess is that the rate of prolapse for vaginal birth and VBAC are very similar. But I plan to look into this further. Thanks for your comment.

  • @TheTwinlover It's totally up to you,but I am a teacher and I would have gotten paid a couple of more weeks if I would have had him earlier.I waited, I loss my plug a week over due,I was 75 percent effaced and only 3 centimeters. The let me go 2 weeks and they said they had to take him. If I had to do it over,I will let the baby try to come naturally before the due date. If I have another baby I will try a VBAC again, if it doesn't happen I am okay with that. After DD c-section

  • @sherritaberry Thanks for responding, soo im still pregnant 39weeks and two days, and i feel nothing , no pains no sign of birth , im only 1cenimeter and effaced only 50%, do you advise the whole waiting until at least 41weeks, or induced labor, or just going with the c-sec..what would you have done if you could? and once again thanks..

  • @TheTwinlover Sorry for the delay, I was in labor for days with no progress ended up having another c-section because he was overdue. I waited 2 weeks after due date.

  • @mrsriviere82 did u get a vbac?

  • @sherritaberry hey what happen ? did you get a VBAC or c-section..please let me know..thank you
