We are all aware that not everyone with autism gets the support and the services they need. This is made worse by a lack of understanding in the general population about what autism is and what having autism can mean, compounded by the fact it is a hidden disability. Daily discrimination and other peoples unpredictable, confusing and ill-informed reactions can make many situations far worse than they need be.

The advertising campaign focuses on daily situations and draws attention to how proper understanding and the right support and services at the right time can make a huge difference to those affected by autism.

  • I have AS too, and I can relate to many of these people in this video. I'd been bullied and rejected by others so much all throughout my school and college days to where, now at the age of 31, I feel mostly distrust and bitterness toward the outside world.

People who have AS struggle to be accepted by society, because society tends to view us as "weird", "creepy" and/or "stupid". They refuse to accept that we also happen to be people w/ feelings, whose minds just happen to work differently.

  • I really feel for the people in this video, especially the guy who's on the verge of crying. Strange how the guy right at the end said his [friends] were trying to make him burgle his parents house, I was convinced to do the same thing except it was my school's lab room. I didn't understand they were just using me to get in and get the goods out. I didn't get diagnosed until I was 18. If anyone would like to talk to me about their experiences please add me as a friend

  • @WizardOfHumor1989 this is not a video meant for humour.

  • It's best to talk to someone rather than stay silent, otherwise staying quite will just make things worse.

  • Well done they are the ones with the problems.

  • I have AS too. During my first few years at high school, there were some students who DID bully me. Since I was sensitive to noise and couldn't (and cannot to this day) stand the sound of crying (especially from babies and little children), students who knew about my weakness would make crying noises at me, even yell WAH WAH WAH at me. I've been talking to my teachers and counselor about this. Still I've made excellent progress at school and did my best.

  • Hello Baby! Where u goin'? Home to change ur nappy?

  • I have Asperger's Syndrome. I get bullied so much. I rarely get physically bullied, but I might even rather be bullied physically than verbally. I know this wasn't the purpose of the video, but it actually helped me understand why people pick on me instead of other people. I think everyone should watch this. No one, autistic or not, likes to be bullied. I wish it would stop at my school.

  • shocking

  • I am glad to see that the "difficult to talk about" is being

addressed in a truthful and graphic way that does not

mince words or water down the foolish behavior of bullies

    and those aligned with them.
