http://www.EmploymentCrossing.com On Monday, Hooker Furniture Corp. announced that it would lay off 25 employees at its wood furniture division. Among the division, its employees working in the operations, warehousing and administration departments will be affected. The reduction in employees will account for 9.1% of Hookers 263 employees working in the wood furniture division. However, luckily for the employees in its upholstery division, they will not be affected. According to the furniture manufacturer, these layoffs are said to be due to the poor economic conditions and its decrease in sales. On a positive note, however, the furniture manufacturer did announce that there will not be any more layoffs in the near future.
