My entry for the 2010 Meniscus Film Festival.
I decided to create a music video akin to my favourite late night TV show of the 90's "The Trip". Where they used archive material to create the visuals to a space theme - to fit the competition criteria I kept mine to explore 40's to 60's American film experiments, whilst using a copyright free piece of contemporary music.
For those who'll want to know - I got the material from Archive.org's Prelinger Archives and used the Creative Commons search to find "Use to Abuse's" free track "I Want to Go!" - and to fit in with the Creative Commons license, none of the material is being used commercially - especially since I didn't win the competition ;-)
