Final Fantasy VIII Opening Scene - Liberi Fatali

"Liberi Fatali" is the Latin choral opening to the Square Co., Ltd. console role-playing game Final Fantasy VIII. It was composed by Nobuo Uematsu, and is considered one of his masterpieces. It was arranged by Shiro Hamaguchi (also arranged Suteki Da Ne for Final Fantasy X), and the original Japanese lyrics were written by scenario writer Kazushige Nojima and the lyrics were translated into Latin for the game by Latin translator Taro Yamashita. It is also notable for being fully orchestrated, unlike most video game music at the time. This was in fact the first time Square had used a fully orchestral piece in one of its games. Liberi Fatali translates to "Fated Children" from the original Latin, possibly referring to the main characters.

Whether it be One-Winged Angel, Dancing Mad, Otherworld, Decisive Battle, or Aerith's Theme, or any other songs from the first ten games, they all say one thing: Nobuo Uematsu is a genius. He knows the most important thing of all with BGM's, they must fit the emotions of a scene. Even in the voiceless games, he manages to portray emotions perfectly with his music.

I think its so weird how much BETTER the CGI scenes in VIII and IX look compared to VII's. Dannng.This is NOT bad considering the time it was made. Oh and of course the song's awesome :V

@ratujr I had the same problem too.

My brother even erased my gameplay so I didn't go back and beat it until much later after release when I actually looked up on the internet on how to beat the part.

It was actually easy if you know what to do.

i have never finished this game i go to the part when rihona becomes apart of the witch chick., i stopped there cause my guys were to weak...and i sucked pretty bad at it being 12 and all so... but man i have to find a new PS1 memory card...lol
