Jon definitely sounds like he's going for a deeper tone at some points, or, is the recording playing a bit slow? Certainly, the tempo is slower than the LP, or the Yessongs version, which i grade as the highest quality recorded YES performance of all time. Whoa, it's fast enough during the 14/8 section.
