Timber 901 that's what I first thought I'm from Cali too. But i think its called a jade cricket, it might be a potato bug, most likely is, I think jade crickets have long legs.

Jerusalum Crickets, looks like tho a crossbreed between a bee and a cricket tho. weird looking thing. but nature can be beautiful and well as scary. i love discovering new animals.
