Caught in the middle of winter, this octopus is one of the largest New England specimens I've seen.

  • That's a lot of money to spend on an animal that will live only two years or so even under the best conditions. They are really hard to keep and have a very short life span.

  • Where'd you get an octopus? I've been researching them, and I want one. By the way... please know that the octopus may and will probably get into the tank next to it to try and nab whatever is in that other tank.

  • It was bycatch from a trawler a friend owns. They are very difficult to keep alive and the water quality needs to be monitored daily.

The aquarium lid is custom made and escape-proof.
