Foo Fighters - Pat's Last Song

Here is the last performance (Monkey Wrench) of Pat Smear with the Foo Fighters in 1997 and the first performance with Franz Stahl (Everlong).

And yes, I know he's back touring with them again, but it was still really sad at the time.

AND PLEASE STOP ASKING IF PAT SMEAR IS GAY. ACCORDING TO DAVE GROHL, PAT IS NOT GAY, NOT THAT IT SHOULD EVEN MATTER TO ANYONE.

And to address the numerous questions about why he left, the prevailing belief (based on interviews with Grohl) is simply that Pat was tired of touring. He had never been in a band for more than a year anyway (Germs, Nirvana). He also wanted to focus on other things like House of Style, etc. He's back touring with the Foos as a third guitarist.
