Nice! Also check out a version of this, and other early ones, on YouTube recorded during a TV broadcast on 3/14/78. The energy's the same, but the audio quality is better.

Were Cheap Trick responding both to the challenge of a country who hadn't really accepted them, and one still under the thrall of punk? The way they approach this show seems to suggest they are out to prove they can rock as hard and raw as any punk rockers. I've never seen CT so rough-edged (but still tight) as on this show. Later on, Robin positively yells out the song 'Surrender'!
