  • So wonderful to see them happily together again. I cannot imagine the heartbreak of being ordered to leave a beloved dog or cat by authorities with more gungho power than sense. Katrina produced so many tragedies; it's so good that some stories do have happy endings.

  • Thanks sittingfox! Yes the dogs are visibly better off back where they belong (can you imagine that these three were kept isolated, and apart, for almost two years? how cruel is that?) This is truly a happy ending not only for them, but for the kids and the whole family, to be made whole again. We're thrilled for them.

  • Sandycats99, you did not LISTEN to what I said. I WOULD NEVER LEAVE MY GIRL. Again, I am familiar with this story! NO AUTHORITIES COULD EVER FORCE ME TO LEAVE MY BABY! That's the love I have in my heart for my pets. And don't try and be condescending by the kindness and compassion remark. It's already there and it makes you sound like an idiot. hehe Hopefully people can live with themselves after leaving their pets or BEING FORCED to leave their pets. :-( EXC

    USES!

  • I heard every word that you said. You are obviously lacking in both compassion and credibility. If you think that you would not do what the man with the gun says when he tells you to leave the dogs, you are both delusional and reckless. There were plenty of people who tried that and watched their dogs get shot right in front of them when they refused to leave without them.

  • By the way, is that you in the video on your home page, by the way? And your dog? If your "dog is like your kid" as you allege, and if that dog were a kid, you'd be charged with child endangerment. Exposing a child or pet to that level of risk is unconscionable. You've got no business lecturing anybody on how to treat animals or children when you obviously gamble with your own pet's safety.

  • They dont deserve the pets back! I don't have any sympathy for the people who LEFT pets during Katrina. My dog is like my kid and I would NEVER leave her to die! Screw all the victims of Katrina who left pets and then wanted them back after they found a NEW LOVING home from people that really deserve the dogs.

  • Dear Shawnman, you are obviously unfamiliar with this story, so you can be forgiven for an opinion borne out of ignorance rather than fact. This family did NOT leave their dogs to die. They are the ones who snuck back in to bring them to safety after authorities forced them to leave without them.

May kindness and compassion find a way into your heart, one day.

  • Can't wait until the 2 most recent videos are posted. Having lost all, the family is once again whole and able to recover from this tragedy. The Coutures promise to the children to get the dogs back has restored my faith that "family values" are Alive and Well in the USA. An awesome lesson and gift to the children. Bondi didn't have time for Master Tank, it was all PR. Master Tank was handpicked for Bondi. Who goes to a shelter to adopt a dog with a newspaper journalist and camera man?
