observe or experience or CHANGE before comes down ?

@CavemanCoochie Prepare. Prepare. Prepare!!! Just in case, theres nothing to lose.
-
@CavemanCoochie If we get hit by a big cme that is released from a solar flare. It could cause power grid to get knocked out, gps systems to go down and mass havoc with the worlds population.
-
@CavemanCoochie Effect as in modern electronics and other things will be effected or destroyed deepening on the corona ejection size. I would say as they are predicting with credible facts that the one that is coming ( predicted to occur) will be the large enough to wipe out power grids across the US and other areas for weeks or months

@mitsukai89 yeah man i agree it has a lot of variables and solar max is approaching but its not something to be worried about, i know you didnt mention doomsday but im sick of hearing and reading about people saying that its coming this year and the sun will fuck us up, its been a long day lol, Peace
-
@Ginjaruto lol. all i said was the sun is reaching solar max, i didnt say anything about "doomsday". Anyway old articles from NASA state the solar max will be in 2012 not 2013. We had less greenhouse gasses in 2000 and depends a lot on how, when and how strong the solar flares hit earth. And you are incorrect about solar flares, it depends on the amount of sunspots, they rarely and very weakly happen at solar minimum. Get off wikipedia and get your facts str8.
-
@mitsukai89 that means nothing, The last solar maximum was in 2000. The next solar maximum is currently predicted to occur in February 2013 and to be one of the weakest cycles since 1928, solar flares occur on a regular basis, people need to relax the whole doomsday crap, its something new every year -_-

@CavemanCoochie Solar storms happen very often. And we're all still here. You may come out of the cave now.

its the precursor for June 6

THATS THE SOUND I HEARD OUTSIDE LAST NIGHT....
how will our folks at the ISS cope with such storms?
just wondering...

@RuudschMaHinda They are safe (relatively) in Low Earth Orbit; well within the magnetic field of Earth. Communications satellites in Geosynchronous Orbit are much higher up and at greater risk.
