Following residents' assault to the headquarters of Alkiadah, members of Al-Qiyadah, sect accused of misleading, were evacuated to Padang Police HQ, West Sumatera. Head of Al-Qiyadah refused the accusation that the sect's teachings were misleading, although he admitted that they only pray once a day
and believe that Muhammad is not the last prophet.
Along with his family, Head of Al-Qiyadah sect, Dedi Priyadi, was evacuated to Padang Police HQ. This was to prevent quarrel with crowd who were angry of Al-Qiyadah's teachings that are considered misleading. But Dedi Priyadi firmly refused that accusation, although they only pray once a day and believe that Muhammad is not the last prophet. Dedi claimed that Al-Qiyadah ideology
that he has been spreading since two years ago is now believed by 500 people across West Sumatera.
On Tuesday morning, residents assaulted Dedi's residence, which was suspected also as the center of Al-Qiyadah spreading. Eleven members of the sect were evacuated by the police before being found by residents. Residents were anxious because Al-Qiyadah sect teachings were considered misleading.
For instance, families of the sect's members who don't want to join the sect, are considered as enemies, including parents.
Last September, Indonesian Ulemas Council of West Sumatera declared that Al-Qiyadah sect is misleading and prohibited. People's anxiety and MUI's declaration have driven residents to demand the dissolution of Al-Qiyadah.
