I think I may have found the original of this song. It was by Teegarden & Van Winkle in 1970 Youtube says they recorded it in 1971, but other websites say 1970. And then Liz Dargan made a version in 1972.

The original was the showstopper from The Temptations' Live at London's Live at London's Talk of The Town (1970). The Tempations were known to not do the same show twice and, besides having at least 4 lead voices, were each capable of doing a solo during their performance that would bring down the house. This was Dennis Edwards' from that album.

Beautifully done......would you mind uploadeding the original, I had that album back in the 70's and I loved that song, but my album walked off without me oneday.
