When a boy is trapped by himself in a hot air balloon, he must follow instructions via radio to land it. This segment was taken from Episode 302 which aired on September 24, 1991 on CBS. This particular version of the segment was taken from a 30-minute syndicated episode, so small parts of it may have been cut out to make room for commercials.

Vote for Rescue 911 to be released on DVD at http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/showinfo.cfm?showID=3531 and to be put back on television at http://www.petitiononline.com/res911/petition.html

  • I have never rode a hot air balloon in my life.

Any ballooners know what would happen if you pull the red line in flight?

I mean a better answer than "your done for"-he didn't realy say what would happen and I wondered what would happened if he pulled that red line at the wrong time.

  • I think he said it opens the top of the balloon. That would let all the hot air out and cause the balloon to fall.

  • good that he had stayed calm during that hole thing. good kid. brave lil guy

  • Because it's fun! AND it takes less fuel to fly in the winter when it's cold. Easier than flying in the summer when it's 100 degrees.

  • i hate heights and this is one of those rare flukes that makes me hesitate before engaging in activities that involves being high up =_=

  • Why the hell do people think ADD is something that renders you helpless? I have ADD, I live on my own, hold a steady job, and am perfectly fine. It is not an excuse for not being able to do something.

  • I ALWAYS wanted to take ride in a hot air balloon it looks so FUN! : D

  • Makes me wonder if that "balloon boy"'s dad saw this and thought 'thats how were gonna get our own reality show!'

  • Im happy he didnt get hurt at all. That would be scary. It made me mad when those people said there son was in a balloon and everyone was worried but it was just a set up to try to get a reality show.

  • where you keep see it or hearing he have A.D.D

  • No national attention for this Colorado balloon boy

  • To think this almost happened again today!
