  • thats like 325 horsepower and 36o tq..That thing should be alt of fun nevxt to mustangs and c4 vettes...LOL

  • @runninonempiy dang youre pretty close- it made 324hp/376tq. on the engine dyno.....however, it was tested with an out of the box 600 Holley. Yes, it will surprise the stock mustangs, but the most fun is when people say "that SS454 truck runs strong" - the look on their face when I pop the hood and they see a TBI smallblock in there is priceless haha.

  • @lakenormanspeed Yes..It does not pay to run a big block any more(unless your doing a 540 or bigger) I run a 421 in my 67 camaro drag car,a vortec in my boat and tow vehicle and a early block vortec head on my wifes 58 chevy...Guess what happens if I blow a starter alternator belt or any thing of the sort..Im on the road in minuets..LOL...Nice truck........I can not give up my 1998 Suburban tow vehicle..I like the 5.7 and the body style better..Now if some one wants to donate a 2007+ sububan LOL

  • @runninonempiy aah, I still like to run a big motor.....if its a big car, but youre right.....do it for big CI, otherwise run a nice big inch smallblock and save a few hundred pounds haha. (I run a pretty healthy 496 in my 66 cutlass...theres a few vids on here. Big tank of a car needs that big motor)

  • @lakenormanspeed will it make that power on pump gas? i know the vortecs have smaller cc sizes. is the comp in your motor around 10 to 1? great biuld.

  • @jmadd9000 thanks, and yes, it runs fine on pump gas....in fact its rarely had anything other than 87 octane in it, including this dyno pull. Vortec heads do have a smaller chamber than traditional smallblock heads...these were 67cc. its 9.7:1 compression, 34 degrees max timing. Never heard spark knock in this motor and its got close to 60k on it now and going strong. Getting a motor to run on crap fuel with decent compression IS possible..its all in the details!

  • I got a 1991 Blazer Silverado (K5 style) has the 350 tbi.. Whats your input on best bang for your buck for mods? I was thinking 383.. But i hear alot of positive and negative about the tbi setups

  • @lakenormanspeed sorry didnt read description fully.

  • Great truck, I miss the days where i still had the TBI fuel injection setup, but I'm running a 750 carb setup on my 91 and it can be a pain occationally. Next build will probably be with an LS series or somekind but right now I have a 383 stroker in my 91 c1500 short box and I love it.

  • @runninonempiy Yeah im the one with the nutter face :>

  • @weewoodeal Yup I know thats why your in my rear view mirror...

  • @runninonempiy i disagree with you 110 precent.
