Story of Eevee

Today is my baby Eevee's 4th Birthday.
Just before she turned 2 she got very ill.
The vet said she had severe kidney failure, from rat poisoning...
She was an indoor cat...

My step father at the time was mentally unstable and an alcoholic. As some of you know I suffered badly that year, even feared for my own life. He had threatened to kill them many times, cause he meant they where suffering cause I kept them inside. We finally moved out one week later (6 months too late if you ask me)

I have never asked him if he did it. But he did threaten to do it, and I actually thought him able to kill my mom and me, so of cause I think he did it. And the fact that he HAD poison...

The shaking you see is not "sleep walking". She had strong muscle spasms like that for several months, small ones up to a year later. She was so severely ill the vet didn't think she would live the night, let alone recover. She said I had to give her a special kidney food for the rest of her life. I asked if my other cat could eat it too, as it's hard to separate them every time they eat. She said the other cat could not survive on it.... So...my cat is doomed? O_o
I decided to prove her wrong. I let her stay on that food only for 3 months. now she is back to full health and eating regular food (high quality Royal Canin)
She hasn't had as much as a cold since, back to full health =^_^=



I hope you enjoy this movie I put together for her. I struggle a bit with codecs and managed to get it squashed... I'll try to fix it, but it'll work for now =P
I think the mistake is in the setup, so I must do it all over again...

I'm very glad she is okay... God, I'm crying now... :P My Kitty, Spikey, had to get put down a couple of years ago due to kidney failure.... I don't know what happened.. But...Now she's gone.. But I'm soo happy Eevee is much better!!! ^w^

@EeveeQueenJigglypuff I think most would have put down my cat also. She was suffering with big muscle spams without stop the day I brought her in. She looked truly horrible. But the vet didn't even suggest it, probably saw I wouldn't have it. There was really no hope, but no harm in trying. Either she lived, or death would come soon.

She is named after the Pokemon. She does look quite a bit like one =)

She's like Ash's Pikachu, always sitting on my shoulders =^_^=

@yetiboy713 She sure is. The vet said most cats die from mild kidney failure, and she had the worst she had seen (that wasn't already dead)

She was also extremely dehydrated due to it.

But you could see she fought, see had no intentions of letting go =P

I think her current boyfriend might actually be a decent man for once =^_^=

Cats can survive. My Eevee not only had kidney failure but a severe one.

But it depends on the cause I guess. If the cause is also treated they can survive.
