Well dark fortress has not their old feeling but just check ylem...
It has very strong lyrics and a dark emotion... Dark fortress is different in every album... Stab wounds was a pretty much suicidal album.. While catawomb is mysterious and gloomy. Eidolon is a straight and aggressive bullet while ylem is a heavy and doomy album... Dark fortress will always be great... Azathoth was a insane vocalist with very special voice, and so is morean.... Stay united brothers.

why did they fire Azathoth

Azathoth gave the copyrights of the name "Dark Fortress" to his cousin Asvargr, so Santura decided that they don't need Azathoth anymore.
He told the band that either he or Azathoth must leave the band.
There was a voting and 4 of the band members decided that Azathoth should leave, because Santura was main songwriter, producer and was also a member of Celtic Frost at that time.
That's the story in very few words.....
