Giving Back: Former Cancer Patient Now Works at UW Hospital

Brittany Mabis was in eighth grade when she was diagnosed with bone cancer. The tumor was the size of a grapefruit and doctors told her she may have to have her leg amputated and would likely never walk. Today she walks without assistance and works in UW Hospital's neurosciences unit because she says, "I had such great care when I was here and wanted to give back a little bit."
