@sephiros9999 Great point. I think back in the day we thought about "playing cartoons" in terms of lush, 2D, hand-drawn art. 3D changed the way we think about animation right around the same time it started changing the way we think about games.

Rayman, Outland, and Stacking? Honestly I was hoping for some stuff that was less heard of than this. These are all games that I heard people showering praise on for weeks or even months after release so they don't really feel underrated at all. You guys almost included Bastion? Really? It's one of the most critically acclaimed games of the year.

@SebastianSB Well, that's why we didn't. :) I think we have a broader idea of "underrated" than you're applying and we also use the term "overlooked" a few times in the episode. A critical darling that gets no play from a general audience whatsoever is underrated by the general public as well as overlooked.

@ZachWulf Rayman is a commercial title for Wii/PS3/360. Outland is available for PS3/360. Stacking is on PS3/360 and will be available on the PC early next year. Cool conspiracy theory, though. ;)

Ghost trick is definitely one of the most underrated games of the year.

@evilbeaver181 I don't know. Raven software's games have a pretty sizeable cult following. It's certainly an underrated game, but there are many, many games that are much better and much less appreciated than Singularity.

Most underrated game I know about would be Baten Kaitos Enternal wings and the Lost Ocean, for the Gamecube. Thumbs up if you have never heard of it.
