Damn. Rock and Rollers aren't supposed to be this smart -- and it was a hit. You have to respect this man. He rolled an entire history lesson of a marvelous fabled place into a five minute song that children can sing. This is Donovan's "A Day In The Life." I remember hearing it for the first time 100 years ago & like "Good Vibrations" by the Beach Boys -- I had to stop what I was doing. We came from Hound Dog to Atlantis -- what a freaking marvleous thing rock music can be.

we are but a mere speck in the history of this planet,yet we've caused it more harm than the millions of generations of humans that came before us. sometimes i wonder if hurricanes,tornadoes,earthquak­es,tsunamis,wildfires,etc. is our planet fighting back. trying to rid itself of the parasites called the human race who have dug into her and paved over her until she cant take anymore. in the broad scope of our universe the eath is just as much a living,breathing thing as we are. be kind to her.
