Cello being strummed. Filmed at 500 frames per second. The lowest string here vibrates at around 125 cycles per second. Each cycle of the fundamental will show up as 4 frames. Higher strings are captured less well.

    More interesting, if you have the patience to sit through it, is the one where the cello is being bowed. There is an interesting feedback between the string and the bow as it grabs and skips along.
